OUR HEALTH TREATMENTS
Isokinetics defines a type of exercise and strength training, literally meaning movement at a constant speed. Isokinetic exercise is used for rehabilitation and recovery and is performed on a specialized rehabilitative exercise device called Isokinetic. This computer-controlled exercise device offers more than twenty movement patterns that can be trained and measured.
The exercise consists of strength training on the specialized Isokinetic exercise device. The device produces a constant speed independently of how much force the patient exerts. Exercise speed and range of movement can be controlled in order to match the patient´s individual needs. In addition, the isokinetic device offers different attachments, which can isolate and target specific muscle areas and thus train and strengthen different muscle groups.
Isokinetic exercise can help in case of sports-related injuries and overstressing. It is especially recommended for patients with conditions like jumper’s knee (Patellar tendinitis), shoulder impingement syndrome, tennis and golfer’s elbow, ankle sprains (twisted ankle), meniscal tears and anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injuries as well as in case of osteoporosis and obesity.
The benefits of Isokinetic exercise include effective muscle strengthening with less time needed as well as targeted muscle training according to injured and weak muscle areas. Due to an advanced training with modern, computer-controlled devices, training and test systems, Isokinetic exercise is very effective as a subsequent surgical treatment. After all, it is a non-invasive therapy without medication.
