Pigment spots and so-called age spots are actually harmless. In the event of an excessive occurrence, so-called over pigmentation, or in particularly exposed areas, however, they can be perceived as annoying.

With laser technology, age spots and pigment spots can now be treated effectively.

The removal of pigments with a laser stimulates the body’s own self-healing powers. Targeted, highly concentrated light impulses heat the pigments for a very short moment, after which they break down into many small parts. These tiny particles are then eliminated by the body’s immune system by being broken down by macrophages (phagocytes) and carried away by the lymphatic system.

The principle is the same as with laser tattoo removal and the results are just as good. The treatment is perceived as slightly uncomfortable by most people, but not painful.
