The multiple demands on time and the hustle and bustle of modern life force people to reach their limits, both emotionally and physically. This is especially true for the musculoskeletal system with its muscles, bones, tendons and ligaments. Long working hours, one-sided postures and movements are primary indicators leading to painful tension, inflammation and other diseases.

For many problems of modern man or woman, physiotherapy offers solutions. Physiotherapy continues to gain scientific recognition in connection with other disciplines of medical and complementary medical fields, but is not a panacea.

What is physiotherapy?

Physiotherapy is an ancient healing approach to the physical problems of humans. It is a globally recognised form of therapy that is used both for prevention and healing. Physiotherapy uses conservative, non-drug treatment methods.

The term "conservative treatment" describes the use of "soft", non-invasive instruments and techniques. The physical procedures and movement are used to gently restore diseased muscles, ligaments and other anatomical structures to full functionality. By the term "physical methods" is meant energy forms and natural materials that are used on the body to initiate various stimuli. These include exercise, heat, cold, pressure, mud packs (Fango), electromagnetism and electricity.

What does physiotherapy do?

Physiotherapy works in single or group treatments to restore disturbed movement and improve patient quality of life. It helps especially with restrictions caused by injuries, chronic complaints, signs of old age or poor posture. Physiotherapy relieves pain caused by impaired mobility, improving patient movement and well-being.
